#33-2 | Deadlines to Add or Drop Summer Courses

Please know the Add and Drop Deadlines of Summer 2017 courses:

May-June First Session (F-section) Summer Courses

  • Last date to ADD: May 8, 2017
  • Last day to DROP: May 26, 2017

July-August Second Session (S-section) Summer Courses:

  • Last date to ADD: July 7, 2017
  • Last day to DROP: July 17, 2017

Please see Academic Dates and SGS Deadlines for all important dates & deadlines. Note that these are deadlines to add/drop courses without academic penalty only – you will not receive per-course monetary refunds.

ACORN/ROSI waitlists are cancelled the evening prior to the deadline date. Though students are automatically removed from all waitlists, iSchool Student Services will copy all waitlists before they are deleted by the system.

After each deadline to drop courses, late drop requests will only be considered where there are documented, extenuating life circumstances. Late drop requests will need the support of the graduate unit offering the course, the iSchool Committee on Standing, with final approval resting with the School of Graduate Studies (SGS). See Academic Regulations for detailed instructions on requesting a late withdrawal from a course. As per SGS: Waiting for mid-terms or graded assignments to see how you are doing is not an acceptable reason for a late drop.

Tip: When dropping a course through ACORN/ROSI, cross-check your academic record (transcript) to your course list or timetable to ensure that you’ve truly withdrawn from any course(s) you intended to drop before each deadline. Read more »
