Senior Library Technician (Public Services & Collections)

Nadia has been working in the Inforum for 36 years.  Her career in libraries began when she was a middle school student, where she worked for her school library, and then the public library.  She began working for the Faculty of Information with a part-time job shelving books.

Since then, Nadia has worked in nearly every facet of this library, including acquisitions, circulation, cataloguing, and course support.  She has been involved in several major cataloguing projects, converted our collections from a manual system to an automated system, barcoded our various collections, created MARC holding records for serial titles, implemented the serial checking-in module, and participated in moving collections to the Downsview off-site storage facilities of the University of Toronto Libraries.  She is currently reclassifying the Inforum's collections from the Dewey Decimal system to the Library of Congress Classification system..

She is the first recipient of the Susan A. Brown Adminstrative Staff Achievement Award (May 2014).

In her current position as the senior Public Services Technician, Nadia is responsible for coordinating the hiring, training, and scheduling of student assistants, managing the 'front of the house' public services, cataloguing, and processing all Inforum resources in paper and electronic formats. She enjoys meeting students and answering their questions. Drop by while she's on the desk and introduce yourself!

In her spare time, Nadia enjoys boat cruises and spending time with her family and colleagues.
